1. Overview

Pinggy is a location-based social app that lets you connect with people in your city or town through short, ephemeral posts called Pings. We believe in privacy, simplicity, and authenticity - and we collect as little personal information as possible to make Pinggy work.

2. Information We Collect

1. Account Information
   You sign in using Google Sign-In. We receive your Google account ID, name, email address and display picture from Google, but they are never shown publicly. Only your public username is visible to others.
2. Location Information
   To show you local posts, Pinggy uses:
   • Device GPS, if you choose to enable location access.
   • If you don't enable GPS, we use your IP address to estimate your city or town.
   We do not store your location history - only your last known location to provide a local feed.
3. Content You Post
   All posts (“Pings”) are public and visible to users in your city or town. Each Ping is location-tagged with your approximate city or town at the time of posting. We store this location information along with each Ping so that it can appear in the correct local feed. Each Ping, along with its associated location data, expires and is permanently deleted after 7 days.
4. Technical Data and Analytics
   We collect basic, anonymous technical data such as device type, operating system, and usage patterns to keep Pinggy secure and improve user experience. Pinggy uses Cabin Analytics, a privacy-first analytics platform, to understand app usage and performance. Cabin Analytics does not use cookies or collect personal data - all data is aggregated and anonymous.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information solely to:

• Operate and improve Pinggy's core features.
• Display posts from your city or town.
• Monitor app performance and reliability through privacy-safe analytics (Cabin Analytics).
• Prevent spam, abuse, or technical issues.
• Communicate essential account or security updates.

We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.

4. How We Store and Delete Data

• All Pings and their associated location data are automatically deleted after 7 days.
• If you delete your account, your profile information and remaining Pings are permanently removed.
• We use secure servers and encryption to protect your data while it exists on our systems.

5. Cookies and Tracking

Pinggy uses only essential cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking cookies, targeted advertising, or analytics pixels.

6. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not share your personal information except:

• When required by law or to comply with legal processes.
• To detect or prevent security, fraud, or abuse issues.

7. Your Choices

• Location Access: You can disable location sharing anytime. Your feed will use your IP-based location instead.
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account at any time through the app.
• Control Your Posts: You can delete any Ping before its 7-day expiry.

8. Children's Privacy

Pinggy is intended for users 16 years and older (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children under that age.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally to reflect improvements or legal requirements. If we make significant changes, we'll notify users through the app or by email before they take effect.
