1. Welcome to Pinggy

Pinggy is a local, ephemeral social app that lets you connect with people in your city or town through short posts called Pings. By using Pinggy, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Pinggy.

2. Who Can Use Pinggy

• Be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your country).
• Have a valid Google account to sign in.
• Use the app only for personal, non-commercial purposes.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or misuse the service.

3. Your Account

• You sign in with Google Sign-In.
• Your email & real name remains private and are not visible to others.
• Your public username, name and Pings are visible to everyone in your city or town.
• You're responsible for any content posted under your account.
• You can delete your account anytime - this will remove your profile and posts.

4. Your Content (Pings)

• All Pings are public and visible to users in your local feed.
• Each Ping can include text (up to 160 characters), @mentions, and hashtags.
• Pings are ephemeral and automatically deleted after 7 days.
• Pings are location-tagged to your approximate city or town at the time of posting.
• You can delete any Ping before it expires.

By posting on Pinggy, you grant us a temporary, non-exclusive license to display your content within the app until it expires or you delete it.

5. Community Guidelines

Pinggy is built for authentic, local conversation - not for clout or followers. To keep the platform safe and enjoyable, you agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, or hateful.
• Share personal or private information about others without consent.
• Impersonate someone else or misrepresent yourself.
• Use the service to advertise, spam, or promote commercial products.
• Attempt to hack, scrape, or disrupt Pinggy or other users.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

6. Location and Privacy

• Pinggy uses your approximate location to show local posts.
• If you allow GPS, we use it for accuracy. If not, we use your IP-based city-level location.
• Your location history is not stored, only your most recent location.

7. Ephemeral Nature of the Platform

• Pings and their related data are automatically deleted after 7 days.
• Deleted Pings cannot be recovered.
• Pinggy does not store deleted or expired Pings.

8. Ownership and Rights

• You retain ownership of your content.
• Pinggy retains ownership of all software, design, and intellectual property related to the app.
• You may not copy, modify, or redistribute Pinggy's code, design, or trademarks without permission.

9. Service Availability

Pinggy is an evolving product - features may change, pause, or be removed at any time. We don't guarantee continuous availability or error-free operation.

10. Disclaimers

Pinggy is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for:

• Content posted by users.
• The accuracy or reliability of any information shared.
• Any loss, damage, or inconvenience arising from the use of the app.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pinggy and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

12. Termination

• You may stop using Pinggy at any time.
• We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or use the service inappropriately.
• Once terminated, your data and content will be deleted according to our retention policy.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect product updates or legal requirements. If changes are significant, we'll notify users through the app or by email before they take effect.
